Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:

We are currently looking for Disability Support Worker to work with a client in Caboolture, QLD. Our participant is a 20-year-old male and has sustained Spinal Cord Injury from a motor vehicle accident and require moderate to high intensity care. Applicants with prior experience of working with traumatic brain injury will be highly regarded. This is a casual ongoing position with no end date in sight. Our participant requires support 7 days a week.

We can offer both part-time and full-time hours to the right applicants

The shift times are as follows:

• Day shift - 7.00am to 3.00pm
• Afternoon Shift - 3.00pm to 10.00pm
• Inactive sleepover

Pay Rates:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care
• Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Prompt the participant to attend his self-catheter if required.
• Hoisting & Transfers (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Medication Prompting
• Attend to thorough skin checks
• Supervision/assistance during meal time
• Assistance with domestic tasks including meal preparation
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Community access + rehab appointments
• Capacity Building and Companionship

Skills & Experiences:

• Minimum 6 months of experience with high intensity participant.
• Excellent Communication
• Australian Driver Licence + own vehicle
• Current National Police Clearance
• Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
• Current Blue Card
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
